Use meaningful link labels Usability Guideline

Description

Users should be able to quickly look at each link and tell where it goes.

Help

Don’t use generic link labels like “click here” or “read more” because they’re hard to tell apart when users scan a page.

Applicable standards

Note: The guidelines.usability.gov website has been down since July 2020, although www.usability.gov is still operating and the PDF version of the guidelines is still available.
