HTML with content-type: text/plain has partial support Browser Compatibility Check

Description

HTML code served with content-type: text/plain should render as HTML source code, but renders as a web page in Internet Explorer 8 and earlier.

Help

content-type: text/plain tells browsers to display content as plain text (but this is ignored by old versions of Internet Explorer). This can be deliberate (when used to share HTML snippets), but can also happen on Apache when files with unknown extensions are returned as text/plain.
